Join your metro

There is no regional mailing list and no one big chat. Each metro runs its own group, so what reaches you is what is happening near you.

Four metros, north to south

Three of them have a standing group. San Diego does not, and rather than hand you another city's chat, it says so.

Santa Barbara

WhatsApp group

Claude Community Santa Barbara. One event so far — Claude Code for Founders at Kiva Cowork on State Street, July 18, 114 registrations. The second gets planned in here.

Los Angeles

Discord

Los Angeles runs on Discord rather than WhatsApp — the server is Claude Community – LA. Eight events, six of them in Venice, 473 registrations between them.

Orange County

WhatsApp group

Claude Community OC. Three events between Tustin and Newport Beach, 389 registrations, the most recent on August 1 in Newport Beach. Nothing is on the calendar after it, and this is where the next date gets worked out.

San Diego

No group yet

San Diego has run more events than any other metro here — ten of them, 1,476 registrations, three fifths of everyone who has ever signed up. It still has no standing group. Until it does, the calendar is the way in.

And the calendar

Two ways to keep the dates. They do not hold the same events, which is worth knowing before you pick one.

This site

All twenty-two, past and upcoming, read from the Claude Community calendar's own API rather than its export and shown in Pacific time. This is the complete list.

The Luma feed

Subscribe once and Luma drops what it exports into your own calendar. It is not everything: fetched on August 6, 2026, that export carried 280 events and not one of them was in Santa Barbara. Nine of our twenty-two are missing from it, including every SoCal event between June 4 and August 1. Useful, but not the whole list.

If none of that reaches you

There is no mailing list to add you to — that is why this is a record and not a subscription. Say which metro you are in and it goes on the record, which matters most for San Diego, where there is no group to join at all. What you send is stored and emailed to Travis, who reads it. Your email address, metro and note, nothing else.
